I look around
and see life wherever I go.
I hear the sound
of life's breath no matter
where I am.
The animals and plants
all say the same thing,
we breathe, we live, we are.
I don't know how much more
I can take, sometimes
I just want
to take that spark I see
out of someone's eyes
and diminish the force of life.
I know that I must wait,
but sometimes I cannot help myself.
I only mean to shake the scale
but sometimes I tip it over
and watch gleefully as the weight of life
becomes unsteady and light.
