NOTE

The individual serves humanity.
Society is the means between individual and humanity.
Humanity dies when the individual serves society
or when society serves the individual.

Cycle of night and day.
I have lived more than ten thousand days.

Today the laundry room still is not available yet,
perhaps because of electrical problems
and because of all the soot and grime.

They are blast cleaning the basement today,
with much of the blasted soot being spewed
accidentally into the main stairwells,
as I discovered when I went out to buy some drinks
and I found myself engulfed in an unbreatheable haze
as I descended the stairs.

It might well take them the coming week to finish the job,
which means that at least one trip to the laundromat
probably will be necessary.

Whole garbled tone, whole world sleeping,
one-note pipe, one blow, head to the ground,
water and soot, blink, breathe, sleep.
One note ringing.
