DAILY LIFE MANIFESTO

Ordinary life. Daily life. This life is real, and realized in it, our true beliefs. Daily kind or cruel, daily generous or hard. But some despise the day, live for envisioned future and postpone all till then. Theirs is the life of epoch and infinity, deadly life of the fanatic and missionary, the visionary whose eyes spark with utopia. A flame that throws its brilliance forward, illuminating future and incinerating days, places, bodies in between. All these between must burn, mission says, because the path must burn and these, the path. Any means to achieve the end. Thus sees vision, instead of living moment, hour, day.

But between now and then, vision's desire and ideal, live millions. Every one by one, you and me and the moment you and he laughed and he and she made plans. Ordinary life. Our daily life. It remains because it never burns away though it blackens under flame. Vision is blind to all that is present, blind to the logic of incandescence: Burning now, burnt then. Light the path and it engulfs the end. Enough of caveman's fire. Present will be our future and future our present. So let present become the life we live, become our day.
